Nice for tamales , as they have to be done with good amount of chicken in it not just two stripes also the oaxaqueños are pretty good Let me add that the champurrado and the atole are really for these days of cold So if you are around the area take a time to try these place ,you won’t be disappointed neither by the flavors nor the price ….

Absolutely fantastic tamales at modest prices. I don't get to the greater Chicago area often, but these were so good that I will search this place out the next time I am in town. Delicious!

We walked in to order tamales. The lady at the front seemed busy, so we waited patiently. When she finally took our order, she walked away halfway through. I assumed she was going to start preparing the order. A gentlemen walked in, and she flirty ordered his order. She served his order, charged his order, and amicably said goodbye. I was still standing there waiting for her to finish taking my order. 5 minutes later, she approached me and told me they were out of the tamales I had so far ordered. She could have saved me time had she said that since I ordered and saved me from watching her flirt while at work.

First time having tamales here and it was delicious! The masa was perfect. Tamales were soft and filled well. The champurrado is also a must try! Very delicious!

The tamales are FIRE!! Moist, airy (not dense), and full of meat. I bought the rojos con pollo, verde con pollo, rojos con puerco, and a oaxaqueño para rematar The family devoured them!! For me, the oaxaqueño was top notch and by far my favorite kind of tamal to eat!! It was SUPER moist and almost gooey…and LOADED with sauce, meat, y muchísimo SABOR. Just the way I like them. The champurrado was also very good. This was my first time trying Isela’s Tamales and I know the wifey will send me to Isela’s for otra dozena

My go to place for tamales. A half dozen each of green chicken, red pork, and cheese & pepper for the spicy kick. Tasty with a good balance of masa and filling for a reasonable price. They're so good we eat them for every meal until they're gone. Then we deal with the guilt cuz it's not the healthiest food choice, but it's so worth it.
